Pointing Hearts Toward Home Forever
Not everyone is called to go to Africa
Every follower of Jesus is called to care for widows and orphans in their distress.
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress...”
— James 1:27
We believe caring for widows and orphans means more than meeting their physical needs. It means sharing the life-changing hope of Jesus Christ.
Through practical care, Biblical teaching, and sustainable programs, we come alongside vulnerable widows, orphans, and families in Uganda to strengthen families, restore hope, and share the truth of the Gospel.
We believe God's heart is for families to remain together whenever possible. By equipping widows and caregivers to provide for the children already entrusted to them, we help build stronger families today while pointing them toward something even greater: an eternal home with Jesus Christ.
Because at The Way Home, we're not simply building homes for today. We're sharing the Way Home forever.
It Starts With Family
For many of the grandmothers we serve, life changed in an instant.
After losing their own children, these women opened their homes and hearts to grandchildren who had also experienced unimaginable loss. Often facing extreme poverty, inadequate housing, and limited access to basic necessities, these grandmothers chose to become mothers all over again.
We call them Granny-Families.
At The Way Home, we believe God has a beautiful purpose for families. Rather than separating children from the only family they have left, we come alongside these grandmothers to provide safe housing, practical resources, and sustainable opportunities that help families remain together.
But our mission doesn't end with meeting physical needs. Through Bible studies, prayer, and meaningful relationships, we share the hope of Jesus Christ, helping grandmothers and their grandchildren discover the love of a Heavenly Father who will never leave them.
Because while a safe home can change a family's life today, the Gospel offers them a home for eternity.
That's what it means to build families today and homes forever.
What We Do
-
For many Granny-Families, the struggle to survive begins with inadequate housing, unsafe living conditions, and overwhelming poverty.
Through the construction of safe, lasting homes and the provision of essential resources, The Way Home helps meet these urgent physical needs, giving grandmothers and their grandchildren a foundation of stability and hope.
But a house is only the beginning. Once their immediate needs are met, we walk alongside these families through Bible studies, prayer, and discipleship, sharing the life-changing truth of the Gospel. Through these relationships, many grandmothers come to know Jesus Christ and discover the hope of an eternal home with Him.
We're not only building houses for families to live in today. We're pointing them toward the Way Home forever.
-
Lasting transformation requires more than meeting immediate needs. It means equipping families with the tools to thrive, both physically and spiritually.
Through Farming God's Way, we teach sustainable agricultural practices rooted in Biblical principles, helping families improve food security, strengthen their livelihoods, and become more self-sufficient.
But this is more than farming. It's the Gospel in action through agriculture, using God's creation to teach Biblical truths, build relationships, and share the hope of Jesus Christ.
We're not only planting seeds for a better harvest. We're planting seeds of faith that can bear fruit for eternity.
-
Healthy communities need churches firmly rooted in the truth of God's Word.
Through our Pastor's Enrichment Program, we equip village pastors who have had little or no access to formal Biblical education with the knowledge, training, and spiritual foundation needed to faithfully teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
By addressing false teachings and strengthening their understanding of Scripture, we prepare these pastors to return to their churches with confidence, sharing Biblical truth and leading others into a deeper relationship with Jesus.
This is one of our greatest opportunities to multiply the Gospel. As each pastor returns to their community, the truth of God's Word reaches beyond one classroom, transforming churches, strengthening families, and pointing generations toward the eternal hope found in Christ.

Why “The Way Home”?
Home is more than a roof.
It is belonging.
It is family.
It is safety.
It is knowing you are loved, cared for, and never forgotten.
For the children we serve, keeping families together means preserving their identity, heritage, community, and hope for the future.
But we believe there is an even greater home awaiting us, and that is an eternal home with our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.
That's why The Way Home exists not only to strengthen families and meet their physical needs, but to share the life-changing truth of the Gospel. Through every home built, every family supported, and every life touched, our greatest desire is to help others discover the love of Jesus and the promise of eternity with Him.
Because our mission is more than building families today. It's pointing them toward their forever home in Christ.
