The Way Home began with a simple act of obedience.

In 2000, God called us from our careers in the United States to Uganda, where our family grew through adoption. That experience opened our eyes, and our hearts, to widowed grandmothers raising orphaned grandchildren with little support of their own.

In 2010, The Way Home was born.

Today, we come alongside these courageous women and their grandchildren to help build strong families, thriving foundations, and homes that last for generations and into eternity with our Savior!

Our story stretches from Kalamazoo and Traverse City, Michigan, to Jinja and Nasuti Village, Uganda—but through it all, we believe God has been the founder and author of this ministry.

After all, family was HIS idea first.

Guided by James 1:27, our mission is simple: to care for vulnerable families, preserve the bonds between generations, and share the joy of giving gifts that can truly change a life.
